Week 12 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Chris Johnson and More Struggling Stars To Bank On

Struggling stars. We all have them. At this point of the season, we certainly can't rely on these guys to turn their seasons around. 

But what we can do is look at these guys this week and expect them to play like stars. At this point of the season, that's all we can ask for.

Chris Johnson

A few weeks ago, we saw what Johnson is still capable of doing when he shredded Carolina. Even though his last game was hardly good, he's now in another comfortable matchup.

The Panthers got torched by him two weeks ago and now the Buccaneers await the same fate. Tampa's defense has been torched all season long on the ground, and Johnson still has the ability to exploit those weaknesses. 

I will grant that Johnson's not worthy of being a reliable every-down back right now, but he's still capable of doing well in good matchups.

Santonio Holmes

While we're on the subject of good matchups, let's take a look at the Jets. The Bills might as well rush 11 men right now. At this point, there is no sense in them having defensive backs. The ones in the lineup aren't doing any good.

Holmes is second on the team in both catches and yards (Dustin Keller is first), but has failed to hit 100 yards all season. 

It's time for that to change, and this is a good week for that to happen. Even if he doesn't, I am looking at a solid yardage day and at least one trip to the end zone. 

Mark Sanchez

Since we've already taken a look at Holmes, let's examine his quarterback. Sanchez has struggled all year, but the Buffalo defense is quite the remedy for that. 

The Jets really need this win, and they know it. Because of that, I am looking for Sanchez to come out and play like he's got nothing to lose. 

He'll target Holmes, as well as Plaxico Burress, on deep plays. With that, I fully expect a big day from Sanchez.
