Penn State vs. Wisconsin Football: Badgers Destined To Take Down Nittany Lions
The No. 16 Wisconsin Badgers are taking on an unfairly distracted football team in No. 19 Penn State, a team that has had to deal with allegations against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
Top that off with the fact that the Badgers are as dynamic an offense as there is in football, and you have a Wisconsin victory.
At 6-0 the Badgers were once considered arguably the most dynamic team in the nation, as they now sit at 9-2, having won just three of their last five games. The losses came in back-to-back weeks against Michigan State and Ohio State.
The Penn State Nittany Lions come in at 9-2 as well, losing to No. 3 Alabama and No. 19 Nebraska two weeks ago. The loss was just a 17-14 victory, after the Nittany Lions rallied back to nearly beat a strong Cornhuskers team.
Yet the Badgers have a tremendous edge in the run game with Montee Ball lining up alongside quarterback Russell Wilson. Ball is just two yards shy of being the leader in Division I football in rushing yards, with 1,466 on the season. His 25 touchdowns are the most of any running back in the nation.
Not to mention this guy has been a man on a mission as of late, running for over 200 yards in two of his last three games. Ball has combined for a whopping 613 yards in his last three starts, carrying the ball 81 times and scoring seven touchdowns in those games.
With as lethal a weapon as Ball in the backfield, there is no question this Penn State Nittany Lions defense is going to be on its toes.
His 224 yards and two touchdowns in the victory at Illinois last week came against the No. 16-ranked defense in the nation in terms of points allowed. Talk about some talent brewing in Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, Penn State boasts a soft offense that isn't known for its ability to score many points. In their last three games, the Nittany Lions have scored 20 points just once in a contest. It's undoubtedly how this team likes to win games, yet the Badgers' explosive offense will set the tempo in this one.
More so for the strengths of the Badgers than the weaknesses of the Nittany Lions, Wisconsin will beat Penn State handily in this final matchup of the season.
