For Anyone Wishing For a Utah Bowl Win This Season Against Alabama ....

Why not wish instead for peace in the Middle East, or an end to famine, or that we find the cure for cancer before Easter? Those are certainly more attainable.

It's so easy to get caught up in Cinderella stories.  It so hard not to pull for the underdog. Everyone wants to wipe the smirk of the faces of the cocky, but this is the wrong battle to wage at the wrong time.

Alabama is going to run the ball. They can come up to the line and call the plays while John Parker Wilson is under center, and they will still run the ball. They can—and will—substitute linemen and backs and they will run the ball.

They will run it down the middle, off tackle or around the ends. They'll run the ball where they want to, when they they want too and there's nothing Utah can do about it.  If they don't score on every possession, it will be because of a penalty or that they attempted a pass.

Alabama's worst offensive lineman is better than the best man Utah can find to put on the defensive line. Alabama will run the ball.

And just when you think they'd never throw the ball, they will. And that will worry you for a few more plays while they run the ball down your throats.

I'm not saying Utah has no men on defense, they just don't have enough good men, so Alabama will run the ball.

Utah thinks they have a good offense, but they never see the ball and have so few chances to score. Why is that? Because Alabama will keep it most of the day running the ball right up heart of the defense.

If you think this story is monotonous, only saying how Alabama will run the ball, imagine watching it for three hours if you're a Utah fan hoping for a win.

So Utah fans, this Christmas, don't wish upon a star hoping for a win. Wish for Oprah Winfrey to become Rush Limbaugh's next wife and become TV's biggest right-wing fanatic. That has a greater chance of happening. Especially when Alabama's running the ball against Utah...
