This year's Arkansas-LSU matchup has more at stake than a year of bragging rights. With this victory comes BCS implications and a possible SEC West division crown, coupled with a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

But, as with all rivalries, we look back to previous seasons to wonder if there will be indicators to how this season's game will go, wondering if history, no matter how recent, will come to repeat itself.

One particular fact should be noted for this upcoming game: the Razorbacks were victorious over this same LSU Tiger team last season. This was a team that had both first round pick Patrick Peterson on its roster last season, and returned virtually all of its defense intact. The same can be said for Arkansas on offense, as quarterback Tyler Wilson has shown to be a very capable quarterback, and is performing well without the Razorbacks' top running back in Knile Davis.

Last season, the Razorbacks triumphed 31-23 over the Tigers, with their offense proving dominant over LSU's solid defense last year. Is it possible it could happen again?

Sure, LSU has shown that their defense is among the best in the nation. But, Arkansas has shown that they are just as potent an offense with a first year starting quarterback and without their star running back in the lineup for the entire season. In their win against LSU last year, Arkansas out gained LSU by a favorable margin, and could never really slow down the Razorbacks at all.

This year, while there is no Davis in the backfield, there is a Tyler Wilson under center, and Arkansas past success in throwing against LSU could prove to repeat itself in this matchup.
