BCS Bowl Projections: Oregon vs. Wisconsin in Rose Bowl Would Be Epic

The BCS bowls always have compelling games between two evenly matched teams, which is why this year’s Rose Bowl game between the Pac 12 champion, the Oregon Ducks, and the Big Ten champion, the Wisconsin Badgers, will be the best BCS bowl game this year.

However, Wisconsin and Oregon still have to win their final games of the year as well as their conference championships. 

For Oregon, they have to get past an awful Oregon State Beavers team at home in their annual "Civil War." Oregon comes into this game after a crushing upset loss at home to USC. This will make for an extra-motivated Ducks team that will overwhelm a Beavers defense that is giving up 29 points per game. 

Following their blowout win to end their regular season, Oregon will play a potential Pac 12 North champion, the 8-4 Utah Utes. Oregon’s speed on offense and defense will carry this Ducks team to another blowout victory, where the Ducks will score 40 or more points to carry them to the Rose Bowl. 

For Wisconsin, they have to get past Penn State at Camp Randall this week. The Penn State defense is good this year, however their offense has kept this team down. The Badgers will get past the Nittany Lions by putting up 24 points. 

From there, Wisconsin will have another tough matchup against a Michigan State team that pulled a shocking upset earlier this year. Wisconsin will correct their biggest flaw in that game, which was third down conversions. They allowed Michigan State to convert on half of their third downs (8-16). 

Shutting down the Spartans' offense on third down will put a halt to their offense, leading to a crushing Wisconsin win. 

This leads us to the Rose Bowl, where these two teams will give us defenses that are in the top 40 in points against, while the real show will be between the two offenses that rank in the top five in points per game. 

We will get an amazing game between Oregon’s LaMichael James and Darron Thomas against Wisconsin’s Montee Ball and Russell Wilson. 

This game will have the potential to have back-and-forth action, with each team putting points up on the board on every drive. With these two teams and their offenses, it will be great to see how their coaching staffs adjust to the other team’s game plan.

The hype will certainly be around the BCS National Championship that will feature LSU vs. Alabama. However, what everyone will be talking about will be Oregon and Wisconsin.
