Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups: Tim Tebow and Players You Must Add

Scouring the waiver wire is not an admission that your team is bad or that you need help. It just means that you may have a player or two that has a bad matchup or you lost a player to injury. It’s why you have to pick up a player like Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. 

It’s amazing that someone like Tebow is still available on the waiver wire. However, according to Yahoo! fantasy football leagues, he’s only owned in 63 percent of leagues. Tebow isn’t the best passing quarterback, but he will get you 15 to 20 points each week. 

Since Tebow has taken over as the Broncos' starting quarterback, he’s had point totals of 24, 14, 27, 18 and 15. In fact, the last time he played the San Diego Chargers he went off in limited action for 17 points. 

Pick Tebow up this week, as he faces the Chargers again and will have another big day against this defense. 

However, Tebow is just one player that can help you. Chicago Bears running back Marion Barber can net you a lot of points every week. 

Barber will not gain a lot of yards in a game. However, he is the goal-line back for the Bears and has stolen a lot of touchdowns away from Matt Forte this year. 

In Barber's last five games he has four touchdowns, while rushing for at least 30 yards in each. With the Bears turning into a run-heavy offense since they lost quarterback Jay Cutler for the year, it’s time to pick up Barber, who’s only owned in 23 percent of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues. 

Lastly, you have to pick up Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson. Simpson has emerged as a good second receiver in this Bengals passing attack. He will not get the same targets as A.J. Green. However, what’s good for Simpson is that he will not the same defensive coverage as Green. 

In four of Simpson's last five games, he’s had games of 10, 7, 10 and 15 points. With the Bengals offense starting to hit on all gears, it’s time to give Simpson a spot on your roster as a flex player. 

So if you need help at quarterback go with Tebow. At running back, give a look to Barber as he’s getting a lot of touchdowns. And finally, if you need a receiver pick up Simpson as he’s only owned in 38 percent of leagues. 

These three players just may help you win your league title this year.
