NFL Week 12 Picks: Chances Every Home Team Protects Its Turf

If the San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans and New York Jets can't win at home this week, they can kiss their playoff chances goodbye. 

A few other teams must defend their turf as they jockey for playoff position. 

What are the chances each team wins in front of their home crowd this weekend?

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

The Bills are essentially fielding a JV team against the Jets on Sunday. The last good game for Mark Sanchez? Three weeks ago in Buffalo. 

Chances of victory: 99.9999% 

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans still have an extremely potent offense, even without Matt Schaub. Arian Foster and Ben Tate. Get used to those names. Something tells me Blaine Gabbert will struggle against the NFL's best defense. Just a hunch. Oh, and Andre Johnson's back. 

Chances of victory: 20%

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals 

Trap game for the Bengals, with the matchup against the Steelers looming in Week 13? Maybe. The Browns have a good secondary, but their offense won't be able to score enough against Cincinnati's ferocious defense. 

Chances of victory: 65%

Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons 

No Adrian Peterson, no real explosiveness for Minnesota. The Falcons are incredibly balanced on offense and Matt Ryan faces one of the worst secondaries in football. Game. Set. Match.

Chances of victory: 85%

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams 

The Rams were handled by the Seahawks last week, even though they held Marshawn Lynch to only 88 yards on the ground. These teams aren't especially explosive on offense and are awful on defense. Maybe Larry Fitzgerald can single-handedly carry the Cardinals to the win? 

Chances of victory: 50%

Carolina Panthers at Indianapolis Colts 

Two combined wins. Yikes. Cam Newton will outplay Curtis Painter, but then again, who doesn't? Neither team has a fantastic defense ( I feel like I'm typing that a lot) and the Colts simply don't have the playmakers to keep pace with the Panthers.

Chances of victory: 35%

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tennessee Titans 

The Buccaneers were competitive against the Packers in Week 11, but in the end, they were handed their fourth consecutive loss. Maybe Josh Freeman can carry momentum from his big afternoon against Green Bay to Tennessee? Chris Johnson vs. LeGarrette Blount. Who prevails?

Chances of victory: 55% 

Chicago Bears at Oakland Raiders 

Anyone hate passing? OK, probably not. But get ready for a ton of handoffs if you tune in for this one. Chicago will lean on Matt Forte with Caleb Hanie behind center and the Raiders have one of the premier running games in football. Plus, their receiving corp is banged up. 

Chances of victory: 60%

Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks 

So where did the Redskins' near defeat of the Cowboys last week come from? Eh, Rex Grossman will regress, as usual. The Seahawks are fine with their identity as a running team and Marshawn Lynch should have another big week. 

Chances of victory: 70%

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers

If Tim Tebow leads the Broncos to another win, the world might explode. Skip Bayless definitely won't shut up. What about Philip Rivers? Can he stop turning the ball over? Please? 

Chances of victory: 50% 

New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles 

No Nnamdi for the Eagles? Have fun covering Wes Welker, Philly. Vince Young shouldn't have a problem shredding through the Patriots' secondary, but you think Tom Brady will struggle against the Eagles? I don't. 

Chances of victory: 40%

Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs 

Kyle Orton! Actually, I'm not overly excited. The Steelers shouldn't have any issues scoring on Kansas City's defense, and really, is Orton going to light things up in his first start with the Chiefs against the Steelers? Then again, don't underestimate the Arrowhead crowd. 

Chances of victory: 25% 

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints 

The Saints. At home. In prime time. What's better? Not much. The Giants are reeling and the injuries on defense are really hurting them. As is their lack of a running game.
