Kevin Smith Injury: Update on Detroit Lions Star's Lower Leg Injury
Kevin Smith has left the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers on a cart.
He had seven carries for 36 yards before going down with what initially looks to be a lower leg injury. He wasn’t even touched on the play.
Smith pitched the ball to a receiver and then crumpled down and limped off the field. He was carted to the locker room for further evaluation. According to FOX’s Pam Oliver, his return is questionable.

Fantasy Impact
Smith was highly touted as a fantasy must-start today against the Packers and was getting a solid workload before the injury.
He earned the job over Maurice Morris for his stellar play last week and looked like he was going to revive his career as he filled in for Jahvid Best.
However, Morris now becomes the feature back once again in the Detroit offense until Best returns, if ever, from his concussion issues.
Who's the Backup?
As mentioned, he is the backup to Best, but now becomes the sole back capable of producing on this roster.
This isn’t good for fantasy owners. Morris proved to be completely and utterly worthless in the few games in which he got the majority of the carries.
Devastation Scale: 8
I think that Smith was the Lions' best chance to revitalize their running game after losing Best.
He could run hard and also was good at catching the ball and making plays out of the backfield.
Morris is terrible and now the team has to sign a running back if this injury turns out to be serious.
Timeline for Return
Smith is getting his leg wrapped right now and is very questionable to return today to the game.
Stay tuned here throughout the game to find the latest updates on Kevin Smith and his lower leg injury.
