Urban Meyer and Ohio State: Legendary Head Coach Confuses an Entire Nation
Is former Florida legend Urban Meyer really going to coach troubled Ohio State?
That was the question on everyone's mind on Wednesday when it was reported Meyer had agreed in principle to a seven-year, $50 million deal with Ohio State and then he denied such reports.
Tweets of exultation in Columbus were followed by tweets of confusion and frustration.
Some compared Meyer's retirement and potential unretirement to Brett Favre's back-and-forth with the NFL.
And, some people, well, they simply wanted the chaos to go away.
When the "hiring" of Meyer was reported, one tweeter posted:
Another man offered some insight into the potential seven-year deal, not knowing that in a few short tweets that Meyer would deny the deal even existed:
Then Meyer told ESPN via a statement that, "I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place. I plan on spending Thanksgiving with my family and will not comment on this any further."
And all heck broke loose.
Tweeted one perplexed fan:
One fan had clearly had enough of the whole spectacle, tweeting:
And "Yorel B Chillin" wasn't very chill at all, tweeting:
All of us in America are glad Urban Meyer gets to have a peaceful Thanksgiving dinner with his family, but it's too bad we won't have the same luxury.
We'll all be too frazzled by then.
