Week 12 Fantasy Rankings: C.J. Spiller and More Awesome Sunday Game Sleepers

Tim DanielsNov 24, 2011

With three games on Thanksgiving, there will be countless fantasy owners who miss the boat and are forced to search the waiver wire for potential Sunday replacements. Have no fear, here are three Week 12 sleepers that play on Sunday.

QB: Matt Hasselbeck – Tennessee Titans

Hasselbeck is expected to play through a forearm injury against Tampa Bay. Prior to a sub par performance against the Falcons last week, he had scored in double digits in three straight games and is a safe, dependable option when the matchup is favorable.

The Buccaneers rank 26th against opposing fantasy QBs, so they fall into that category. Chris Johnson continues to struggle, which puts more pressure on Hasselbeck to throw. That might not be good for Tennessee’s playoff chances, but it certainly boosts the veteran's fantasy stock.

Week 12 Projection: 18 fantasy points

RB: Chris Ogbonnaya – Cleveland Browns

It took some time for Ogbonnaya to settle into a starter's role after injuries to Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty. He finally seems comfortable, though, scoring 28 fantasy points over the past two weeks.

His opponent this weekend, the Cincinnati Bengals, have given up four rushing touchdowns in their last two games and are generally average against the run. Ogbonnaya should be able to keep his momentum rolling and should be owned in more than one quarter of leagues like he is right now.

Week 12 Projection: 12 fantasy points

WR: C.J. Spiller – Buffalo Bills

Yes, Spiller is listed as a wide receiver by ESPN now. He's been working at that position for several weeks because of Fred Jackson's success. With Jackson out for the season with a leg injury, Spiller will get the start at running back.

The Clemson product has been a major disappointment since the Bills took him in the first round last season. He'll get an opportunity to change that perception against a stout Jets defense. Spiller should see 20-25 touches, making him worthy of a flex start.
