For this edition, we take a look at Aston Villa's sensational duo of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young.
Gabriel Agbonlahor is a product of Aston Villa's Youth Academy. He enjoyed loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday before breaking into the first team at Villa Park.
Ashley Young was snapped up by Aston Villa from a relegated Watford side and has firmly earned his place in the side due to some phenomenal performances this season.
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Agbonlahor broke into Aston Villa's first team in March 2006 and ever since then, he has featured regularly for the Villains and played a pivotal role in the Birmingham club's transformation which has currently taken them into the Premier League's much-acclaimed 'Top Four'.
He has truly shown why Martin O'Neill has invested so much faith in him.
Agbonlahor has tons of pace which he uses effectively to break down the oppositions defense. He can strike with both feet, he can fall out on to the flanks, he helps in defense, and he has also developed an aerial presence in the box which makes him the perfect 'old-school' English centre-forward.
Give him another year or two and he could be a certain starter for England's National Team.
Ashley Young
The former Watford winger has settled in at Villa Park and has shown why he is worth the £9.75m that Villa eventually paid for him.
Like Agbonlahor, Young also is quite pacey on the flanks and possesses exquisite control which makes him another fine prospect for England's future.
Young, who is Arsenal supporter, can cut in to strike or cross with immense accuracy or he can go deep to provide pin-point crosses which makes him largely unpredictable to defenders.
Even Arsene Wenger has praised Young for his "commitment to his team".
We at DD for once, will agree with Arsene Wenger.
The Young - Agbonlahor partnership was largely unknown a couple of seasons ago.
However, this season, the duo have been exceptional and have played a significant role in Aston Villa's quest for the UEFA Cup and their surprising rise in the Premier League.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the next edition of Deadly Duos where we take a look at another surprise duo.
Please let us know if you think Aston Villa can hang onto their gems.
