Week 12 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Ryan Fitzpatrick and More Fantasy Failures to Avoid

Gabe ZaldivarNov 23, 2011

It is just as productive to highlight the failures going into a fantasy week than the studs. Ryan Fitzpatrick is just one player that will ruin everything you worked so hard for.

We are deep into the fantasy season. So much so that we have seen two very different sides of some players. Unfortunately, Ryan Fitzpatrick is one early season hero that has fallen on humble times.

We are all getting amped for playoffs or simply to take down some teams that have hopes of some things. Here are players to avoid if you are playing a spoiler or just want to avoid a landmine that would send your team packing.

1. Ryan Fitzpatrick

The Bills and their quarterback started off as hot as any team this season. It wasn't too long ago that Fitzpatrick was the talk of every NFL show. Now he is mired by mediocre results. That should be your first flag.

The second comes in the form of a dreadful matchup against the New York Jets. The Jets may be an inconsistent team but their defense is still a tough nut to crack for quarterbacks this year. Stay away from all things Fitzpatrick.

2. Ryan Grant

The Packers and Lions will fight it out in what should be the most enjoyable game on Thanksgiving. Grant should get far more touches than normal as James Starks heals.

Even if Starks doesn't play, the Lions are not an easy team to score on if you are a running back. There is also the fact that this will be a shootout that will feature a great many scores from superstar Aaron Rodgers. There just won't be enough love to go around.

The NFL landscape has been quiet on Palmer. I guess it is far more enjoyable to deride the guy than laud him. He has been the answer the Raiders needed in the last few weeks.

It will come to a crashing halt on Sunday against the Bears. Chicago has had a far better defense than they had in the start of the season. They are versatile and fierce in their coverage. This will be a bad day for the Silver and Black; that includes Palmer.
