Redskins vs. Seahawks: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Alex KayNov 22, 2011

The Washington Redskins travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks with nothing much more than pride realistically on the line.

Both teams have had underwhelming seasons and are going to be evaluating their rosters over the next few weeks to see what they are working with for next season.

Unless something crazy happens, these two teams will be selecting in the early portion of the draft rounds, and winning may not even be the best thing for either at this juncture.

Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA

When: Sunday, Nov. 27 at 4:05 p.m. EST

Watch: FOX

Listen: ESPN 980 AM—Washington, ESPN 710 AM—Seattle

Betting Line: Seattle -4

What's At Stake?

Not much.

Both teams are going to miss the playoffs this season barring some miracles.

Seattle realistically has no shot with their 4-6 record and tough schedule to close the season.

The 49ers all but have that division locked up already, and the NFC is too competitive this season for them to get a wild card spot. There will be no ridiculous 7-9 Seahawks team in the postseason again this year.

Washington started the season hot, but has significantly cooled off and hasn’t won a game since Week 4. With the Giants, Cowboys and Eagles in their division, they could kiss any shot of their season continuing into January goodbye.

Redskins Injury Report (via Rotoworld.com)

WR Santana Moss—QST (Hand): Moss hasn’t played since Week 7, but he will be going through drills to determine his availability this week. He’s got a good chance of suiting up and seeing the field and producing.

Seahawks Injury Report (via Rotoworld.com)

WR Ben Obomanu—DBT (Ankle, Knee): The team pulled Obamanu out of the game against the Rams this Sunday, and it doesn’t sound like he will be able to go against Washington this week.

Fantasy Start 'Em, Sit' Em and Sleeper

Start ‘Em: Marshawn Lynch

Lynch has gone full beast-mode over the past few weeks. He’s scored in every game over the past six weeks and should be good for another touchdown at least against the ‘Skins.

If he can carve up the Cowboys and Ravens’ defenses, he can certainly dominate the Washington front seven.

Sit ‘Em: Jabar Gaffney

For all of Seattle’s faults, they do possess a solid passing defense and secondary.

Gaffney is the No. 1 receiver unless Santana Moss is playing, but neither would be a particularly great start in fantasy.

Sleeper: Rex Grossman

If you are desperate for a QB, Grossman did not have a bad outing against the Cowboys last week, and he could build on that performance in Week 12.

He threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns with just one turnover—not bad stats for deeper league teams that need a signal caller.

What They're Saying

Rick Maese of The Washington Post found that while Roy Helu is the Redskins best rusher, coach Mike Shanahan is reluctant to start him.

"

“I like Helu. He’s doing some great things,” Shanahan said. “I don’t want to put too much pressure on him too early. He’s not ready for that. But he’s gaining experience, and I like what I see.”

"

Danny O’Neil with the Seattle Times is reporting that coach Pete Caroll is sticking with the run and trusting his defense to grind games out. In reference to the teams’ win over the Rams:

"

"Our style was there," Carroll said. "We were hammering it and trying to knock them around a little bit. In the meantime, if we didn't make it, we'd punt the football and let the defense play."

"

Redskins Player to Watch: Roy Helu

Helu is the best back on the Redskins' roster, and he will need to have a good game if the team wants to pull out the win.

Grossman is coming off a good game, but establishing the run to open up the pass should be the ‘Skins' priority. Helu is their best bet to accomplish that goal.

Seahawks Player to Watch: Marshawn Lynch

Will we see Lynch reach his seventh-straight game with a TD?

I have a sneaking feeling we will.

Lynch is quickly becoming one of the best backs in football despite being on a terrible team that has trouble throwing the ball at times.

Key Matchup: Redskins run defense vs. Seahawks ground game.

If Washington can bottle up Lynch and force them to throw while pressuring the passer, they are going to win the game.

Seattle cannot win the game if they are forced to pass, as their QB play is spotty at best.

Prediction

Washington 17-Seattle 9
