Monday Night Raw: Thoughts on the Aftermath of Survivor Series
My mind was made up about mid-afternoon yesterday that I would not be watching Monday Night Raw in the aftermath of a mediocre Survivor Series from the other night.
And like a train wreck that you replay in your head over and over again, I was there, sitting on the couch watching it all unfold like the soap opera it is.
Boy, do I need a hobby.
There were many things I thought about when I saw the carnage (love when you can use that word) that unfolded in the ring. These things make me believe the upcoming TLC PPV will have some meaning and more drama will unfold as we head to WrestleMania in four months.
Here are some of my thoughts about what I believed was a good Raw show last night.
Kevin Nash Needs to Get over Himself
1 of 10Aren't we all a little tired of the Kevin Nash show?
This is getting to be a real disappointment.
Nash doesn't get in the ring, he spouts off about hurting Triple H and does his vignette.
It's old, it's fading and please, someone get him off camera.
ADR Starts His Climb Again
2 of 10I liked the fact that the creative team had the Chutzpah to pit Alberto Del Rio against "Long Island Iced Z" Zack Ryder.
It showed the company will give him a real push and John Cena may have had a hand in that.
Ryder is growing on me as he is getting better on the ring.
But I am not convinced.
The Divas Still Need a Change
3 of 10A change will do you good. I am not going to harp on this too long.
Lita, if you hear me, please come to the rescue!
R-Truth's Suspension Messes Everything Up
4 of 10It is reported on WWE.com that R-Truth has been suspended for personal conduct violations.
REALLY?
This really sucks since you could argue that the second and third best performers in the business are these two and they showed AWESOME ability against The Rock and Cena.
What happens now remains to be seen.
Sin Cara's Injury Was REAL
5 of 10Out for six months or more. OUCH!
It looked real when it happened and well, it was.
No one said wrestling wasn't painful.
It seems this guy cannot catch a break.
Sheamus and Jack Swagger Do Nothing for Me
6 of 10Sheamus should be chasing gold, not getting locked into a war with this mid-card exception.
Swagger is a good talent but is not used properly.
Sheamus needs to chase the World Title and stop playing in the sandbox.
Wade Barrrett Is DA MAN
7 of 10Barrett may be as good right now as Randy Orton and when the two lock horns again, it will be a monster show.
Barrett is better on the mic than Orton and shows a little more technique.
Orton is still the golden boy of SmackDown, so we will see if the two live up to the hype.
John Cena Doesn't Talk the Same Talk
8 of 10When Cena got in the ring last night, he was very humble and contrite. He told the Awesome Truth exactly what it is.
Cena also had nothing but love and respect for The Rock, which makes me wonder what will happen at WrestleMania.
I still want to see a heel turn.
Cody Rhodes and Booker T...Seriously?
9 of 10I would hate to see this happen.
Rhodes needs a good push again to get to the World Title.
Booker T is not the way to go about it.
Make it stop.
Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk Are Going to Have an Epic Battle
10 of 10Remember I called this one.
Ziggler and Punk gave us one of the better matches in some time.
Ziggler was every bit Punk's equal in the match and showed he can sell when he has to.
This could be a very good feud.
