Sidney Crosby's Return Makes NHL Legendary Again
That was some knock to the head. As we are all well aware, the crisis has ended and we can all get back to caring about the NHL now.
The lingering concussion that Sidney Crosby sustained ripped the biggest star of the sport from its ice. It also threatened to kill his whole career.
Thankfully, the worst is far behind the Pittsburgh Penguins star player. It had been well over 300 days since a concussion knocked him from the game we have seen him dominate in a way no other can.

Here is video of Crosby skating in the morning and then answering questions on his return.
The worst was thought as his concussion continued to keep him out far longer than we see in other sports. When NFL players flock back to the line looking woozy from a hit before, we applaud them. It's time for that practice to stop.
The fact is the Penguins treated this thing better than most franchises would. They made sure that their legendary player was perfectly healthy before he was placed back on the ice to represent their team.
We owe them a great deal of thanks because this man also represents that NHL in a bigger way. The absence was nearly as grand as when Michael Jordan left for baseball in the middle of his career.
The loss took the biggest reason to watch the game away for many fans. The torch had been passed long ago and the only star worth keeping it warm was Alexander Ovechkin.
In an odd twist, it takes these two polarizing athletes to keep this sport going. Now they have them both back for the long haul, something that was very much in doubt when Crosby's concussion symptoms continued to plague him.
On Monday, the star took to the ice and everything from his morning skate to his epic return to competition was covered.
This was the treatment only the great receive. If you doubted that he would need a few weeks to get back into form, you would be wrong. Here is how Sid the Kid treats a comeback.
Like only the truly iconic can, Crosby not only returned to the ice, he did so with drama and excitement surrounding him.
The image of him scoring against the Islanders Monday is still fresh in my mind. The sport got its greatest player back from a career-threatning injury. It's time to celebrate.
