WWE 12 Roster: THQ Attracts Fans of All Ages with Old and New School Stars

WWE '12 is set to hit the shelves on Tuesday and will feature a roster replete with stars that any and every wrestling fan can enjoy.

As expected, gamers will have the opportunity to play as the stars of today, including current WWE champion CM Punk, Survivor Series showstopper John Cena, US belt-holder Dolph Ziggler, tag team champions Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne, and, of course, top diva Beth Phoenix.

Of greater interest, though, are the legions of legends and alumni that THQ so lovingly included for your gaming pleasure. New to the game are Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels and Jim Ross, both available via download, along with Michael Cole and current UFC heavyweight contender Brock Lesnar.

As far as other inductees are concerned, those who pick up the game will have the opportunity to play as Eddie Guerrero, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat and Jerry Lawler.

They'll be joined on the lengthy list of playable characters by a charismatic crop of alumni, including The Rock, Mick Foley, Vladimir Kozlov, Vader and Edge.

Of course, let's not forget about some of the other fan favorites from over the years, such as Macho Man Randy Savage, Booker T, Triple H, Big Show, Goldust and The Undertaker.

And what virtual WWE experience would be complete without the chance to roam the ring as none other than Vince McMahon himself?

Whether the game itself is any good or plays well remains to be seen. If nothing else, WWE '12 will at least give fans of professional wrestling the opportunity to relive their favorite moments between the ropes from the comfort of their living rooms.
