2011 NFL Fantasy Football Week 12: Tight End (TE) Rankings and Projections

Sean E. DouglasNov 21, 2011

Brandon Pettigrew vs. Packers

After a productive start to the season, Brandon Pettigrew has failed to post either a touchdown or more than 40 yards in a game for three straight weeks. Last week, Pettigrew failed to reach 40 yards again, but he did find the end zone.

With Tony Scheffler and rookie receiver Titus Young more involved over the past month, it’s unlikely that Pettigrew will have big performances going forward. He may find the end zone again this week against the Packers.

Green Bay has struggled on defense this year—even Josh Freeman posted over 300 yards and two scores against them last week.

With Stafford playing better, look for Pettigrew to be targeted often in the red zone; one of his favorite targets is around that area of the field.

Brent Celek vs. Patriots

Michael Vick failed to play last week, but that didn’t stop Brent Celek from being targeted regularly against the Giants on Sunday.

Vince Young may play again, and if so, fantasy owners should feel good about his ability to move the offense after his 258-yard and two-touchdown performance.

Look for Celek to put up a reasonably productive day against the Patriots fantasy-friendly defense.
