Brandon Jacobs and Kyle Vanden Bosch (groin) missed their respective games last week.  Vanden Bosch and Albert Haynesworth will miss the rest of the regular season. 

Walter Jones (knee) had surgery and will miss the rest of the year.  Arnez Battle will join  him. 

Tampa’s Run D continued to get destroyed as Michael Turner ran for 152 in an Atlanta W. 

It’s so bad in DC that Cincy beat the Skins. 

Indy kept streaking to keep Detroit winless. 

San Diego edged the Chiefs.  Rivers threw for 346. 

Seattle won the Toilet Bowl matchup against St. Louis. 

Miami topped SF. 

The Jets survived the Bills. 

Jax beat GB by giving up 13 in the 4th quarter. 

Matt Cassel threw four TDs and ex-Raiders Randy Moss and LaMont Jordan had the last laugh. 

Carolina rolled on Denver. 

Pittsburgh topped Baltimore. 

Dallas pounded the Giants.  The G-Men then locked up CB Corey Webster for five years at $43 million. 

Philly pounded Cleveland. 

Pat Williams (shoulder) will miss 2-6 weeks. 

Carl Peterson will step down as KC’s GM. 

Jerry Porter landed on the IR. Sammy Baugh passed away. 

Pacmoron will play this weekend. 

Marvin Harrison sat on Thursday’s game. 

T-Jack will start at QB for the Vikes this weekend. 

The Colts won again.  This time it was against the Jags on Can’t See TV.  Manning was unbelievable.

Charlotte signed Juwan Howard.

Elton Brand dislocated his shoulder.  He’ll miss a month. 

The Celtics won their 16th straight game.

Manny Legace (concussion) landed on the IR. 

Roberto Luongo (groin) wil remain out.

Chris Chelios made his season debut. 

Phoenix’s Brian McGrattan entered the NHL’s substance abuse program. 

Jeremy Roenick will miss three weeks because he’s old, I mean he hurt his shoulder. 

Sean Avery is done in Dallas.  Someone will take their Sloppy Seconds and give Avery a chance. 

Buffalo will be without Nathan Gerbe and Craig Rivet for a couple weeks because of injuries.

Marian Gaborik returned for the Wild. 

Marc-Andre Fleury is back for Pittsburgh. 

Vancouver retired Trevor Lindens’s number. 

San Jose was the fastest team to 25 Wins. 

Mats Sundin will play for Vancouver.

Kerry Wood signed a two-year deal with Cleveland. 

Kyle Farnsworth did the same with Kansas City. 

The Phillies signed Father Time (Jamie Moyer) to a two-year deal.  They also signed Chan Ho Park. 

Detroit signed Adam Everett. 

Rafael Furcal re-signed with the Dodgers after flirting with returning to the Braves. 

Trot Nixon signed a Minor League deal with the Brewers.

 

Syracuse named Doug Marrone their new Head Coach. 

Dave Clawson is Bowling Green’s new Coach. 

Army fired Stan Brock. 

Tim Tebow won the Maxwell Award.  Sam Bradford won the Heisman. 

Houston extended Kevin Sumlin’s contract. 

Auburn hired Gene Chizik as their next Coach.  Charles Barkley wasn’t pleased.

UConn RB Donald Brown, the nation’s leading rusher, will be back next year. 

James Laurinaitis won the Lott Trophy and was named to his third straight All-American squad. 

Joe Paterno got a three-year extension.  Dude is 82. 

Turner Gill isnt’ Auburn’s next Coach, but he did get more coin from Buffalo. 

Paul Johnson worked out a new deal with Georgia Tech.

‘Tis the season as Dionte Christmas’s 35 points led Temple beat No. 8 Tennessee. 

Luke Harangoody had 23 points and 15 rebound as No. 13 Notre Dame beat Boston U. 

No. 19 Georgetown beat No.15 Memphis.

No. 20 Michigan State hung 118 on Alcorn State.  UMass beat No. 23 Kansas. 

Stephen Curry (41 points) outdueled Chattanooga’s Stephen McDowell (31) as Davidson won. 

Lazar Hayward had 19 points and 18 rebounds as No. 24 Marquette beat IPFW.  Arizona upset No. 4 Gonzaga. 

Cleveland’s Cedric Jackson hit a sixty footer to beat No. 11 Syracuse. 

No. 19 Tennessee beat No. 23 Marquette despite 30 points from Wesley Matthews. 

No. 3 Pitt won behind Deuan Blair’s 21 point, 1 rebound effort. 

Ole Miss Coach Andy Kennedy was arrested on assault charges.

Tyler Hansbrough became the all-time leading scorer at UNC. 

No. 9 Louisville beat Mississippi behind Earl Clark’s 25 points and 16 rebounds.

 

Corey Pavin will captain the Ryder Cut team again. 

Richard Sterne won the Alfred Dunhill Championship. 

Kenny Perry and Scott Hoch won the Merrill Lynch Shootout. 

Tim Clark won the Australian Open. 

Annika Sorenstam birdied her last career hole. Anja Monke won the Dubai Ladies Masters.  Tiger is hitting irons as his rehab continues.
