Peyton Hillis Injury: Updates on Browns Star's Week 12 Status and Fantasy Value
Peyton Hillis has played in only four football games this season.
The Madden-cursed star has infuriated fantasy owners for weeks now, and it is safe to say that he doesn't warrant a bench spot, unless you're holding out for a playoff run or a keeper league.
He's still owned in 73-percent of Yahoo! leagues.

UPDATE: Sunday, Nov. 27, 12:01 p.m. ET by Donald Wood
Fantasy owners who fought the good fight and held on to Peyton Hillis should expect the back in the lineup today for the Cleveland Browns. The matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals run defense is a nightmare though.
Browns writer for the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram Scott Petrak is reporting on twitter about Hillis’ status for Sunday’s game:
I would keep Hillis away from my starting fantasy lineup until he proves that his hamstring is back to normal. While he may be a factor in PPR leagues, don’t expect much form the back today.

Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that Hillis' progressing enough to make him a game time decision.
UPDATE: Friday, November 25 at 12:06 p.m. EST by Michael Dixon
Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that Hillis did participate in drills, but is still likely out.
Even if his status does change and Hillis plays, he's still not a good fantasy option this season.
UPDATE: Monday, November 21st at 2:32 p.m. EST
In the least shocking development of the season, coach Pat Shurmur has again declared Hillis out of action at the Monday press conference. This is the third week in row for the early status update.
According to Rotoworld:
As state below, Hillis is a liability to hold on fantasy rosters. The season continues to move and it is doubtful he'll make any immediate impact.
The Browns stand to gain more from seeing what they have in Chris Ogbonnaya and Montario Hardesty (when he's healthy).
INITIAL UPDATE
Browns head coach Pat Shurmur declared Hillis out for yesterday's game nearly a week prior (via Twitter):
They consider last year's biggest surprise star to be week-to-week.
Hillis' status has been affected by some whacky things, including his wedding.
The ESPN player page hits the nail on the head for his status saying, "he is being evaluated on a weekly basis, meaning that he could miss a few more games."
The Browns had a bit of a rough patch at first, but Chris Ogbonnaya has taken over and responded very well in the last two weeks.
Cleveland's listed No. 2, Montario Hardesty, as also been out with an injury (via the Washington Post).
There is no telling if and when Hillis is going to be back on the field. He is in a contract year, but that has gone south rather quickly. The Browns, at 4-,6 are virtually out of the playoff race, so don't be shocked if they continue to see what they have in Ogbonnaya and/or Hardesty.
We'll update on Hillis when more is known.
