Who Might Not Play for Wyoming: WR Chris McNeill

Wyoming's leading receiver suffered an arm injury and could miss the remainder of the season. The junior had caught 42 passes for 504 yards and two touchdowns in nine games and will be sorely missed by the Cowboys, especially against the high-powered Broncos.

Who Might Not Play for Boise State: RB D.J. Harper

Harper missed Saturday's game with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable for next weekend. He's the main backup to starter Doug Martin. The Texas native has scored eight touchdowns and is averaging more than 60 yards from scrimmage.

Key Storyline: Is Kellen Moore a Heisman Trophy contender?

Most analysts were handing Andrew Luck the Heisman before Stanford lost to Oregon. Since that loss, the field has opened up a bit and Moore deserves consideration from the voters. He's completing nearly 75 percent of his passes and has racked up 35 touchdowns.

It's a quarterback-heavy group of candidates that also includes Matt Barkley and Case Keenum. Trent Richardson from Alabama and Montee Ball of Wisconsin are also generating some hype. It has the potential to be the closest race in years if Luck falters again.

BCS Implications

Boise State continues to sit ahead of Houston in the BCS standings and has the potential to play spoiler. If the Cougars are unable to leapfrog the Broncos, it's likely they'll be passed by several power conference schools during conference championship week.

What They're Saying

Speaking about his team's thorough victory over New Mexico, Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen talked about how hard the Cowboys worked to reach that point. They'll need to bring a similar intensity vs. Boise State (via Yahoo! Sports).

"

Winning is hard. You don’t come out and blow people away in the first quarter and coast for three quarters. We played for four quarters, dominated the fourth quarter and found a way to win the game. I’m very proud of these kids and their performance today, particularly in the second half. Defensively, we really shut them down.

"

After a long week following Boise State's first loss of the season vs. TCU, the aforementioned Moore was just happy to move on. He's endured two heartbreaking seasons in a row, both of which could have been salvaged by a better kicker (via Idaho Statesman).

"

'It was good,' senior quarterback Kellen Moore said. 'Obviously those (losses) can linger for a little while. You don’t sleep well. You feel good when you can get back to practice and get back to work and you’re on to the next opponent.'

"

Wyoming Player to Watch: QB Brett Smith

Smith was the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 352 yards and three touchdowns. The dual-threat freshman quarterback has scored 25 touchdowns and thrown just five interceptions, which is quite impressive for a young QB.

Boise State Player to Watch: WR Tyler Shoemaker

Shoemaker is tied for second in the nation with 14 receiving touchdowns, trailing only Justin Blackmon of Oklahoma State. He's steadily improved during his four years at Boise State and put all of his talents on display by catching three touchdowns vs. San Diego State last week.

Key Matchup: RB Alvester Alexander vs. Boise State run defense

If Wyoming is going to pull off the upset, the Cowboys will need to control the clock to keep Moore, Shoemaker and Co. on the sidelines. Alexander is averaging more than four yards per carry. It will be up to him and Smith to secure a stunning victory.

All told, Boise State has too much firepower for Wyoming to contend with over four quarters.

Prediction: Boise State 48, Wyoming 24
