Week 12 Waiver Wire: Scouting the Best Available Players

Zach KruseNov 21, 2011

On the Week 12 fantasy football waiver wire, the following players are the best available options:

QB Matt Moore, Dolphins

Moore threw for three touchdowns against the Bills on Sunday, which is the second time in three games that he's thrown for three scores.

QB Jake Locker, Titans

Locker came in for an injured Matt Hasselbeck and threw two touchdowns in Atlanta on Sunday. Keep an eye on Hasselbeck's status moving forward because this could be Locker's team right now.

QB Alex Smith, 49ers

The 49ers defense gets all the credit, but Smith threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals. He has some nice matchups down the stretch, too.

RB Kevin Smith, Lions

With three total touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) and 201 total offensive yards (140, 61) on Sunday, Smith will be the hottest pickup of Week 12.

RB Joe McKnight, Jets

New York has some injury issues at running back, and McKnight wasn't terrible in a backup role against Denver last Thursday.

RB Chris Ogbonnaya, Browns

Ogbonnaya has over 200 yards and a score in his last two games as the Browns starting running back.

RB Ryan Grant, Packers

James Starks sprained his knee on Sunday, which should open up the lion's share of carries to go to Grant in Green Bay.

WR Torrey Smith, Ravens

The roller coaster ride of 2011 continues for Smith, who caught six passes for 165 yards and a score on Sunday against the Bengals. He's produced big points in three games but has been invisible in the other seven games.

WR Jerome Simpson, Bengals

Simpson isn't just a one-hit wonder; he's been over 100 yards in two of his last five games and has a touchdown in two of the other games.

WR Jabar Gaffney, Redskins

Washington doesn't have much on offense, but Gaffney is far and away their best receiver. He caught seven passes for 115 yards and a score on Sunday.

Alex Smith's top receiver rebounded from a poor performance last week with seven catches for 120 yards against the Cardinals.
