Week 12 Waiver Wire: Must-Have Studs in Time for Thanksgiving Day Games

Wes ODonnellNov 21, 2011

It's another short week in the NFL, but this time around there are six teams taking the field instead of just two.

Thanksgiving Day games have had some downers in years past (having to watch the Lions every year will do that) but Detroit is not only relevant this year, but postseason contenders.

They're also a fantasy football monster.

So is their opponent, the Green Bay Packers.

Miami will also travel Dallas and Baltimore will host the 49ers.

There are no bye weeks to cause problems for owners, but there are certainly matchups.

Here are must-have studs you need to add before Turkey Day on Thursday.

Randall Cobb, WR

The Packers are in for a shootout with the Detroit Lions. The Thanksgiving Day bash at 12:30 p.m. ET features the Rodgers' 31 touchdown passes vs. Stafford's 25 touchdown passes.

They are No. 1 and No. 2 in the league respectively and this game will require plenty of scoring.

Rodgers loves to spread the ball around. He's started using Jordy Nelson as his primary No. 2 target, but he's still going to give other players a chance to make plays.

One of those players is going to be Randall Cobb. He's hit-or-miss, but he's a threat in the return game.

This matchup screams of a possibility of him finding the end zone like he did in Week 1.

The 49ers wideout is still available in over 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

On Thursday, San Francisco will host the Baltimore Ravens. The game will be a battle of strong-willed defenses and run-heavy offenses.

But somebody has to make a play on the outside.

Crabtree isn't very consistent, but is coming off a huge week against the Cardinals.

He has a favorable matchup against the Ravens secondary.

This is a last-ditch effort if you haven't gotten involved yet. Laurent Robinson is still available in 25 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

He's become Tony Romo's top target in Miles Austin's absence and it isn't going to stop.

The Cowboys are set to host the surging Miami Dolphins on Thursday in a game that could become a bit of shootout.

Miami has outscored opponents 86-20 during their three-game winning streak.

The Cowboys have outscored opponents 94-44 during their three-game winning streak.

If Robinson is available you need to add him immediately.
