45 of the Most Evil Characters, Managers and Stables in Wrestling (Part I)
They were bloody, scary and just plain evil. Not just men, but women, too. And managers.
Not everyone in the wrestling business can be a face. Some just gravitate toward the heel role and take to it like it were second nature.
And then there were those who were or are evil. The kind that wouldn't mind running over their own mother to gain a victory or drop kick their own teammate if it meant more television time.
Yes, these are the evil-doers in professional wrestling. You will see many of the same names we have discussed in the past, but now there are new reasons to to hate, despise or maybe cheer for them as one ofย your favorites.
There are also new names and characters for your to enjoy.
The Russians
1 of 26Ivan Koloff is one of the most notorious bad guys in professional wrestling history.
Add "nephew" Nikita Koloff and then Krusher Kruschev (Barry Darsow) and you had a triple threat of evil and mayhem.
One of the all-time heel tag teams in wrestling.
Raven
2 of 26A complex man of great knowledge with a great ability to wrestle.
That was the case for Scott Levy. He grew up in wrestling to become a misunderstood, psychotic wrestler who had a following that lived on his every word.
Kane and Paul Bearer
3 of 26When Kane arrived in the WWF years ago, it became one of the best storylines in wrestling history.
Kane (Glen Jacobs) is one of the most revered characters still around.
And the story told by manager and keeper Paul Bearer just adds to the drama.
Paul Jones' Army
4 of 26He and his army were the badass heel stable before the Four Horsemen.
Jones was a popular "face" wrestler in the Carolina and Florida regions before turning "heel" on Jimmy Valiant, going so far to cut his beard at one point.
Valiant got even by shaving Jones' head.
His stable of "evil" villains included Pez Whatley, Manny Fernandez, Rick Rude, T-Joe Khan, Theย Warlord and Meng
The Freebirds
5 of 26No one was more evil in World Class Championship Wrestling than Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts.
They turned on the Von Erichs but still had a good fanbase in Texas.
Their lowest point of "evilness" was when Michael Hayes told the Von Erichs that just because David passed away, it did not mean he and his tag team partners would stop trying to kick their asses!
Kevin Sullivan and the Purple Haze
6 of 26Sullivan was the first person I thought of in this piece.
His satanic stuff is legend in Florida and the NWA. He had a cult following with the likes of Purple Haze and Jake Roberts.
Isaac Yankem, DDS
7 of 26Glen Jacobs first came to the WWF as Jerry Lawler's personal dentist.
Yankem abused opponents and proceeded to try and extract teeth from them.
Evil and freaky at the same time.
The Miz and R-Truth
8 of 26Now that there appears to be a break in the action and a possible feud, this team was one of the most evil and sinister the WWE ever had.
Truth and Miz just took being bad to a whole new level.
The stuff they got away with also was some of the old WWF and NWA-themed gimmicks, which were well worked.
Vince Russo
9 of 26He swore he did not come to WCW to be on camera.
And guess what?
Russo is considered one of the most evil and hated men in the business.
And that all started with script writing and things just mushroomed.
Eric Bischoff
10 of 26I don't think I need to explain this one.
He has basically run two wrestling organizations into the ground.
What more needs to be told?
Hollywood Hulk Hogan
11 of 26He spit on everything that got him to the top.
And the plan worked well.
Hogan being "evil" was one of the best things to happen to wrestling.
Mr. McMahon
12 of 26Even behind the scenes, he is still evil.
The man is loved and hated by all. Some at the same time.
McMahon knows how to control the crowd and take them to the edge and back.
The classic human roller coaster.
Gary Hart and Kabuki
13 of 26He always had some great talent from the Orient.
Whether he was battling the Von Erichs in Texas or challenging Dusty Rhodes in the NWA, Hart was a master at giving the fans a great feud.
His protege, Kabuki, was a classic Japanese wrestler who had a true evil streak.
Undertaker
14 of 26He does things that stillย captivate me.
He still brings it every night and yes, he comes from an evil background.
And we all love it.
Dutch Mantel
15 of 26Feuded with Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee in the Memphis area.
A real tough guy who looked rugged and fought just as hard.
Killer Tim Brooks
16 of 26He was a former Texas Brass Knuckles Champion.
Small in stature but a mean streak bigger than the state he loved.
He was a truly mean man.
The Brood
17 of 26Gangrel, Edge and Christian.
They were bloodcurdling wrestlers who looked like a cult taken from the Lost Boys.
Gangrel was a smaller wrestler who flamed out.
You know about Edge and Christian.
Luna Vachon
18 of 26She just looked evil.
Strong, powerful and athletic, Vachon came from the famed Vachon family and carried on the same characteristics of Paul and Maurice before her.
Abdullah the Butcher
19 of 26Like the Sheik, he made a living out of hurting his opponents, both in and out of the ring.
Whether it was a chair, a pencil, a fork or some other object, he just inflicted pain.
Awesome Kong
20 of 26For her time in the business, she has been the most hated and evil woman in the business.
Her size is just too big and intimidating to be a "demure" wrestler, and her evilness shines in her role both in TNA and now as "Kharma" in the WWE.
Zeus
21 of 26He was in the movie No holds Barred and then wrestled for a brief time in the WWF.
Tiny Lister was an evil character than followed Hulk Hogan to the ring once the movie had left the theaters.
His look and eyes alone made him an evil man.
Ted DiBiase
22 of 26The Million Dollar Man had the most evil, sinister laugh.
He was an original and his gimmick of "Everyone Has a Price" was classic.
The Four Horsemen
23 of 26In their heyday, they "broke" Dusty Rhodes' leg. They sandpapered Ricky Morton's face.
They tied Rhodes to his truck and broke his arm.
They did numerous other "evil" acts.
I would think they would qualify for this list.
The Sheik
24 of 26The original Sheik loved a blood bath and great battles that involved foreign objects.
He had some amazing battles with Bobo Brazil in the 1960s and 1970s.
Randy Orton
25 of 26He hears voices in his head. That certainly gets him on this list.
Orton is a third generation talent that is better than his father or grandfather ever was.
He is robotic, daring and always looking to get an edge for a win.
Ric Flair
26 of 26If your are the dirtiest player in the game, you are an evil man as well. Or it stands to reason.
Ric Flair has been just about everything in the business. Evil is just one of them.
