Atlanta Falcons Tight End Tony Gonzalez Continues to Re-Write NFL History
Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez caught his 50th pass of the season Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. This is the 14th consecutive season that Gonzalez has caught at least 50 passes, that's an NFL record.
Also on Sunday, Gonzalez surpassed the 13,000-yard mark for his career. He is the 13th player in NFL history to reach that milestone.
For his career, Gonzalez now has 1,119 receptions for 13,024 yards and 89 touchdowns, all of which are NFL records for a tight end.
The only season Gonzalez did not catch more than 50 balls in his season was his rookie year in 1997.

Receptions in a Single Season for a Tight End
1 of 4In 2004, Gonzalez set the single season record for most catches by a tight end with 102. That season, Gonzalez caught a career-high 1,258 yards and added seven touchdowns for the Chiefs.
Most Seasons with 1,000+ Receiving Yards by a Tight End
2 of 4Gonzalez is the only tight end in history with four seasons with more than 1,000 yards receiving. Gonzalez surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2008, all when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Most Consecutive Starts by a Tight End
3 of 4Gonzalez has been extremely reliable, missing just one game in 15 seasons. He holds the NFL record for the most consecutive games started by a tight end, 120, when we was with the Kansas City Chiefs (1999–2006).
Pro Bowl Receptions and Touchdowns All-Time Leader
4 of 4Gonzalez could be considered an honorary Hawaii resident with all of the Pro Bowl trips he's made. Gonzalez has been selected to the Pro Bowl 11 times, and he is the Pro Bowl's all-time leader in career receptions with 42. He also has six Pro Bowl touchdowns, another record.
