UPDATE: Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 12:02 p.m. EST by Michael Dixon
It's being reported by the Buffalo Bills via Twitter that Jackson will be held out of Sunday's game vs. the Jets.
Fantasy owners everywhere should pick up C.J. Spiller, or look for other options. This is about as cut and dry as it gets.
Yesterday’s game against the Miami Dolphins made owners of Jackson pay attention to what was a horrible game to sit through. Not only were the Bills playing horribly against a 2-7 Miami Dolphins team, but the Bills offense as a whole was doing absolutely nothing.
Jackson saw his production go from 20 plus carries a game to only seven. His yards went from 100 plus to only 17. He went from scoring at least once to not even coming close to finding the end zone.
What we saw was Jackson on the sideline with an injury. With the fantasy playoffs coming up in the next few weeks, an injury to someone as important as Jackson could cripple teams in the postseason.
At first glance the injury looked to be a very, very sore hamstring.
That’s good news, as the hamstring isn’t pulled, torn, or anything worse. A sore hamstring may slow him down next week against the New York Jets, but should not make him miss any time.
Then today there were two tweets from the experts at ESPN. The first came from John Clayton saying that Fred Jackson should be fine next week.
The second coming from injury expert Stephania Bell saying that Jackson even said his hamstring is alright.
Both of these tweets should be great news to Jackson owners. The hamstring is sore, but it will not make the fantasy all-star miss any time. For this Bills team, who is on a free fall over the last five games, they cannot afford to have Jackson miss any time.
The hamstring injury is something that if you have Jackson on your team, you should keep an eye on. It will be sore and it could slow him down next week against the Jets. If you are that worried about the injury then you should put a waiver wire claim on Jackson’s back up, C.J. Spiller.
That way if Jackson’s hamstring becomes worse next week, you will not be left out in the cold.
However, for now it’s just a sore hamstring and Jackson will not miss any time. You can come back from hitting the panic button on your fantasy season.
