UFC 139: Dan Henderson Will Outlast Shogun Rua in a Memorable Fight
UFC 139 will provide a much better main event than last weekend’s Main Event on FOX in the form of Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
These two are evenly matched and both share their own strengths, but Henderson will outlast Rua in a much more memorable affair than last weekend’s main event.
It is going to be special to watch. Both fighters have different strengths and possible weaknesses, but this fight will be one that will be remembered.
I got to give the edge to Henderson, though. In what is a "toss-up" type of fight, Henderson has a couple of strengths that I particularly like. His jaw allows him to stay in contention in the fight and he has a chance to end the bout any second with possibly the best right strike in the UFC.
Although Rua is a very smart and skilled fighter, Henderson will be able to get inside of Rua, forcing the issue. It will also allow him to put Rua in his clinch which will cause major headaches for Rua.
Rua will need to work the cage to attempt to frustrate Henderson if he plans on getting the victory.
Henderson will also be the aggressor in the fight, so if there is a chance that this bout goes the distance he will get the nod when it’s all said and done.
In the end, Henderson stays away from Rua’s kickboxing and sticks to being the aggressor by getting in the grill of Rua. His strikes, strong jaw and clinching ability will give him the crucial victory, making him a future title contender in the light heavyweight division.
