WWE SmackDown: Could Daniel Bryan Come out of His Feud with Mark Henry on Top?

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 19, 2011

Last night on SmackDown, Mark Henry continued his streak of weekly beatdowns on Daniel Bryan. Apparently, Henry is not the biggest fan of the "pick on someone your own size" philosophy.

The Big Show is also involved as he has had numerous failed attempts at trying to capture the world heavyweight championship from Mark Henry, and he has aligned himself with Daniel Bryan in their shared goal of beating Mark Henry.

Last week, we even saw Show try and get Bryan to cash in his briefcase to get the title from Mark Henry—that shows that the title is less important to him than actually beating Henry and taking what he holds dearest.

With Mysterio being out injured, Daniel Bryan is just about the smallest guy in WWE, so this could lead into a David vs. Goliath type of feud between Henry and Bryan.

There have been rumors circulating that WWE wants to keep the title on Henry through WrestleMania, which would mean that he would be the one Daniel Bryan is cashing in against if he really waits till next year.

WWE loves their stories of little guys getting the better of a much larger bully, and with Bryan and Henry they have the ultimate underdog story.

Henry showed that even Bryan's finishing maneuver could not keep him grounded, which some would say devalues Bryan, but I don't think so.

If you look at Henry's rampage over the past few months, he has put several superstars on the shelf, including Big Show.

Daniel Bryan, however, keeps coming back despite week after week of brutal beating at the hands of the World's Strongest Man.

There is an old saying that goes "In order to build something up, you must first tear it down," and this seems to be what WWE is doing with Bryan.

By having him get beaten week after week it will allow him to have an even better comeback when the time is right.

This also helps set up his world title run if WWE doesn't make him the first person to fail at cashing in his case.

I like the direction Henry and Bryan have been heading in recently because I don't think WWE is using Bryan simply as a punching bag, but rather they have a longer plan in place for Daniel Bryan's evolution and climb to the top.

What do you think, is there any way Daniel Bryan can come out on top in a feud with Mark Henry?
