BCS Rankings 2011: Predicting and Projecting the New Week 12 Poll

After No. 2 Oklahoma State was stunned by Iowa State in double overtime Friday night, the BCS standings are going to get a major shakeup in Week 12.

Top-ranked LSU has an easy SEC match against Ole Miss, but after the Tigers there are several teams with worthy cases to be the new No. 2 in the BCS rankings.

No. 3 Alabama now has a good chance to set up a rematch with the Tigers in the BCS title game if they win out. The Crimson Tide have an easy game against Georgia South on Saturday.

No. 4 Oregon, however, has an extremely strong case to set up a rematch of their own with LSU. After a season-opening loss to the Tigers, the Ducks have won every game since, including a win at Stanford against Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck last week.

The Ducks have a difficult game against USC on Saturday, and a win would give them a quality victory for their BCS resume and clinch a spot in the Pac-12 title game from the North division.

No. 5 Oklahoma faces a very talented No. 22 Baylor Bears team who are quite strong offensively. Bears quarterback Robert Griffin III is a top player and has the ability to create real problems for the Sooners.

The Sooners need a convincing win over Baylor because with Oklahoma State's loss on Friday, Oklahoma's matchup with the Cowboys on December 3 doesn't have the same BCS importance now.

Other important games include No. 13 Kansas State versus No. 23 Texas, No. 9 Stanford in a rivalry game with Cal and No. 11 Houston looks to keep their 10-0 record perfect against SMU.

Are we headed for an LSU-Alabama rematch, or will Oregon (or anyone) be able to overtake the Crimson Tide?
