Week 11 Fantasy Football Rankings: DeMarco Murray and RBs Who Will Rise

Josh MartinNov 18, 2011

A heads-up here, folks—Week 11 of the 2011 NFL season is about to wreak havoc on your fantasy football rankings.

Which, depending on how you play it, could either be a really good thing or a really bad thing for your fantasy team. Assuming you'd prefer to be on the positive side of the ledger, here are a few running backs to keep your eye on who will keep trudging their way up the league-wide positional hierarchy.

DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys

No Felix Jones? No problem, especially if you have DeMarco Murray on your fantasy team. He'll get his fair share of touches for the Cowboys against a Redskins defense that's firmly lower-middle class against the run this season.

Not to mention he's been on an absolute tear since taking over for Jones behind Tony Romo, racking up 682 total yards and three touchdowns in four games. Look for Jason Garrett to call Murray's number plenty when (not if) Romo starts getting pummeled by Washington's pass rush.

Michael Bush, Oakland Raiders

I've been on the Michael Bush bandwagon ever since his days of running behind Brian Brohm at Louisville and, at long last, the ride isn't so lonely. He's made the most of his opportunities filling in for the injured Darren McFadden, shouldering the load of Oakland's run-first offense to the tune of just over 160 total yards from scrimmage per game along with a pair of touchdowns.

If you think Bush will be deterred by Minnesota's run defense, well, think again. Sure, the Vikings are ranked sixth in yards per game allowed, but they have yielded nine total touchdowns to opposing running backs this season.

James Starks, Green Bay Packers

James Starks first came to the fore last season after Ryan Grant was knocked out with a season-ending ankle injury in 2010. Starks has seized control of the role once again in 2011, with 503 yards rushing and another 157 receiving through the Packers' first nine games.

And while Starks has only one touchdown so far this season, you can bet he'll find his way to the end zone at least once against a Buccaneers defense that has surrendered 13 touchdowns to opposing backs.

That is, unless Albert Haynesworth proves to be too much of an impediment...
