Miz and R-Truth: Why Awesome Truth Must Beat The Rock and John Cena
For the second consecutive pay-per-view, The Miz and R-Truth will team up for a high-profile tag match, as they get set to take on The Rock and John Cena at Survivor Series. Awesome Truth was victorious against CM Punk and Triple H at Vengeance, but it remains to be seen if their momentum will continue.
Many are probably expecting The Rock and Cena to dominate, and while they have a major advantage in terms of star power, there is no reason why they need to beat Awesome Truth. If the WWE is smart, then it will give The Miz and Truth another huge win.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Both The Rock and Cena have accomplished everything possible in the business, so giving them a win over Miz and Truth would simply be a blip on the radar. If The Miz and Truth were to beat two icons of the business at one of the year’s biggest events, though, it could do wonders.
Some may understandably be worried that it could damage Cena and The Rock heading toward WrestleMania, but there are certainly ways to give Awesome Truth the win without making either Cena or The Rock look weak in the least.
The most obvious solution is to have either Cena or The Rock hang the other out to dry. I think the odds of a clean finish in this match are quite low, and while it may seem like that would involve the heel team of Miz and Truth doing something underhanded, I don’t think that will be the case.
Over the course of their feud, The Rock has generally gotten the better of Cena. With that in mind, Cena needs to strike a blow to show The Rock that he shouldn’t be taken lightly. That doesn’t mean that he should turn heel, but I think he should walk out on The Rock to prove a point.
Not only would this benefit their feud moving forward, but it would give Awesome Truth the win without either Cena or Rock looking bad in the process. Both The Miz and R-Truth are main-event caliber performers, so winning could help get them to that level permanently.
Basically, this match is little more than a way to continue to build The Rock and Cena toward WrestleMania. Because of that, results aren’t really important. The Creative team could decide to give The Rock and Cena the win in order to get a good reaction from the crowd, but giving Miz and Truth the rub would be the smart, forward-thinking move.
