Week 11 Fantasy Football Projections: Tyler Palko and Shocking QBs Sure to Shine

T.J. McaloonNov 18, 2011

The NFL makes stars and household names every week. Therefore, on Monday Night Football, you can expect the NFL to make a new star when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Tyler Palko has the game of his life against the New England Patriots.

The pride of West Allegheny, Pennsylvania has taken quite the journey to his first career start and he couldn’t have asked for a better defense to play against.

Plus, Palko has one of the better receivers in the NFL in Dwayne Bowe to throw to.

Along with Bowe, Palko also has Jonathan Baldwin as a deadly option. Baldwin has performed well in his first three games, following his big debut with highlight-reel catches in his last two games.

With the game being on Monday night, Palko gets extra time to prepare for the Patriots defense. Bill Belichick's team is giving up 309 yards per game, which has led to them conceding a league-worst 2,780 passing yards on the season.

Palko will be available in your league, but he isn’t the only one who’s a free agent that will have a big day.

The Oakland Raiders' Carson Palmer, who’s only owned in 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues, will have a huge day against the Minnesota Vikings. This is a Vikings defense that ranks 30th overall. They have given up an alarming 18 touchdowns this year, which is one less than the bottom-of-the-league Indianapolis Colts.

In Palmer’s last two games, he has five touchdown passes. It appears as though the former Bengals QB is finally getting into a nice rhythm with his Raiders receivers. For fantasy owners who have missed out on these last two successful weeks, you have missed on Palmer scoring 26 and 18 points respectively.

This week, he will have another great game with three touchdown passes and 200-250 passing yards.

If you do not want to take a risk on Palko or give a roster spot to Palmer, you have to make a play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Josh Freeman.

Freeman has struggled in his last two games, throwing only two touchdowns to three interceptions. However, he will turn it around this week when he goes against an awful pass defense in the Green Bay Packers.

This Packers team ranks next to last in yards per game, giving up 284. They also rank next to last in total yards against with 2,559 and rank 26th in passing touchdowns after giving up 16 in nine games.

This game will force the Buccaneers to play catch up with the Packers offense. You can expect Freeman to throw 50-plus times for 300-350 yards and three touchdowns.

These three quarterbacks are all worth the risk this week. You will see your risk pay off with a big victory led by one of these players.
