John Cena Survivor Series: Cena Needs to Bring Attitude in Feud with The Rock
John Cena has become the most annoying character in WWE over the last five years because he has lost his edge. But a tag team match with The Rock at Survivor Series will be just the thing that Cena needs to get his swagger back.
When Cena first debuted in WWE all the way back in 2002, he was actually cool. He had the great heel persona with the tacky chains and the rap songs that made him so easy to hate. You can see why the crowd rallied around him in 2003-04, even though he was still a heel.
But when Cena was turned face, something terrible happened: He became a caricature of what a star should be. He went out and started making lame little-kid jokes, always smiling and not taking anything seriously.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
All of Cena's promos have become about how irrelevant the outcomes of his matches are, and that's why he doesn't care if you boo or cheer, so long as you are reacting to him.
This is not sustainable for business, no matter how much WWE wants us to think that all is right with the world when Cena goes out there and cuts lame promos. The fans have turned on him like they did The Rock back in 1997, when he was basically what Cena is now: smiling and happy all the time.
At Survivor Series, Cena has a chance to get back to being the "cool" character that he used to be. I am not saying that he has to go full heel and make the kids hate him, because that is not going to happen.
I am, however, saying that Cena can get that attitude back. There is nothing wrong with cutting slightly edgier promos and caring about the result of a match.
It is obvious that WWE is setting up Cena to turn on Rock on this show, but more important than that is the follow-up on Raw. If he goes out and starts making lame jokes, then anything that happens at the pay-per-view is moot.
If Cena gets back to being the character that isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and use his outstanding microphone skills, the anticipation for WrestleMania will increase exponentially.
