WWE News: The Latest Plan for The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 28
According to WrestleZone.com, via F4WOnline.com, the current plan calls for the match between The Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28 to be a non-title affair.
The decision makers in the company have been going back and forth on whether or not to make it for the WWE championship, dating back to earlier this year when Cena vowed to be champion in April 2012.
However, the consensus in the company is that their Miami showdown—which already has a robust media campaign behind it—won't need the cachet of the title to entice potential pay-per-view buyers.

Thus, by freeing up the WWE championship to be defended in another match, the "wealth"—so to speak—will be sufficiently spread, maximizing the card's selling appeal.
Now the question is, which two competitors will be in the WWE title contest, assuming it will be a singles match?
If a recent report is any indication, the likelihood is great that CM Punk will not only be a participant in the WWE championship match, he will be defending the coveted prize.
Against whom, however, is a more perplexing question.
Educated conjecture would tap Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Nash, Brodus Clay (who is set for a big push), The Miz, R-Truth, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Sheamus (if he turns heel), Wade Barrett or even Triple H as possible challengers to Punk's title.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see where the road to WrestleMania 28 ultimately takes us.
