WWE: 7 Reasons Why the Miz and R-Truth Belong at the Top
With Survivor Series 2011 imminent, we take a close look at the team of Awesome Truth.
Today, I am going to list seven reasons why Awesome Truth deserves to be at the top.
This list is based on past, present and future WWE storylines, as well as the product as a whole.
This list is in no particular order.
They Have Been at the Top Before
1 of 8Earlier this year, both Miz and R-Truth were in championship feuds against John Cena.
Miz was the WWE Champion for the first portion of the year, even entering WrestleMania 27 as the world champion.
R-Truth was named No. 1 contender on two occasions. The first time was at Extreme Rules. However, after losing his No. 1 contender spot to John Morrison, R Truth turned heel.
After R-Truth turned heel, he went on a hot streak and landed in a championship match at Capitol Punishment against John Cena.
To Prevent Another Superstar Bust
2 of 8We have seen superstars fall from the main event a shocking amount of times in the past few years.
Anyone remember Jack Swagger's reign?
Anyone remember when Sheamus ran to Cena's locker room for help?
Anyone remember the undefeated Vladimir Kozlov vs. Shawn Michaels?
All of these superstars (and more) were in the main event before eventually crashing and burning.
If the WWE wants to move forward, they can't keep throwing tacks at the wall and hoping they stick.
Their Characters Are Refreshing
3 of 8Every time these two get on the mic together, they bring with them a bit of excitement.
Every promo they have done has been original and fun to listen to. As a group, they are getting better each week.
The fact that Awesome Truth has been in a war of words with Cena and The Rock is something to be remembered.
They Are Helping the Tag Team Division in the Process
4 of 8Awesome Truth is now one of the only true tag teams currently in the WWE.
Air Boom was commanding the Tag Team Division right up until Evan Bourne got suspended.
Now, it is up to Awesome Truth to keep the revitalization of the tag team division going.
However, they can only do that if they stay a team and stay at the top.
They Have a Strong Foundation
5 of 8Every superstar goes through certain stages.
They build a foundation, they earn credibility in the mid-card, and then they enter the main event.
R Truth and The Miz both have been hanging in the mid-card a long time and deserve to be pushed up the ladder.
They Are Two of the Few Main-Event Heels
6 of 8Let's look at the current heels in the WWE.
Mark Henry: Currently the World Heavyweight on Smackdown
Alberto Del Rio: Currently the WWE Champion, in a feud with CM Punk.
Christian: Smackdown superstar, recently got injured.
Dolph Ziggler: U.S. Champion, Mid-Card
Cody Rhodes: I.C. Champion, Mid-Card
The WWE is really desperate for legitimate heels right now. If WWE was smart, they would give Awesome Truth a monster push and make them a threat to the babyface superstars.
They Are the Future of the Business
7 of 8This is the biggest reason they should be at the top.
The WWE cannot keep relying on John Cena and Randy Orton to carry the entire WWE.
WWE needs to add diversity in the main-event scene. Enough said.
