Week 11 Fantasy Football Projections: Tyler Palko and More QBs to Avoid

Andrew KulhaNov 17, 2011

Week 11 ushers in a time of the 2011 NFL season that is absolutely integral for fantasy football owners, especially if they are trying to make a push for the playoffs. This isn't the time for brash decisions, bold moves or risky starts, especially at the quarterback position.

Say what you will, but there is no doubting that a fantasy football team can live or die by the quarterback. They are the most consistent producer and should be bringing in a majority of the points on any given week.

With that in mind, here are a few quarterbacks you need to avoid Week 11.

Tyler Palko, Kansas City Chiefs

This week is going to be Palko's first ever NFL start, and he's going to have to do it on the road against the New England Patriots. For all the problems New England's secondary has had, I don't expect they will have much trouble with a "greenhorn" quarterback.

Unless he is going to start off a legendary career with a huge win over the Patriots, I don't see him playing well.

Many Matt Cassel owners picked his replacement up, but I would suggest avoiding Palko until we can see what he is made of.

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

It has to be extremely hard to trust Matthew Stafford right now, especially after his four-interception game in Chicago. He may seem like a better play at home against the lowly Panthers, but his confidence seems to be shaken, and he's playing hurt.

He says the fractured finger in his throwing hand isn't bothering him, but his four-interception performance and "throwing gloves" don't seem to agree.

Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Many feel the only weakness for the Green Bay Packers is defense, which has a tendency to give up big plays. That being said, they seem to be really focusing on locking down lately, and they've always been proficient at causing turnovers.

I feel Freeman and the struggling Buccaneers are going to have a hard time at Lambeau against a Packers defense that has already accumulated 17 interceptions
