Brett Favre Is the Worst Pro Bowl QB Selection Ever
OK...Brett Favre has had an amazing career. He has been a great veteran and a fun player to watch. He has been a great Pro Bowl selection in the past.
This year is NOT a Pro Bowl year by any means.
In fact, he probably is one of the most glaringly obvious "in name only" Pro Bowl selections I have ever seen. You can make arguments for all of the players named, but Favre? I cannot see it.

2027 NFL Mock Draft 🔮
Let's look at the facts. He has the sixth-highest QB rating in the AFC, 18th in the NFL. He doesn't even have the highest QB rating in his DIVISION. Chad Pennington and Matt Cassel both have higher ratings.
He is seventh in the AFC in passing yards. Once again, Cassel and Pennington have more yards.
He is fourth in the AFC in touchdowns with 21, but he has thrown a league-leading 17 interceptions.
This does not even take into consideration his low yards per completion or his sacks and pressures. Favre has had an AVERAGE quarterbacking year.
He did have a great pass percentage at 67 percent...since when did that become a key Pro Bowl stat?
Heck, look at the last four games.
Three TDs and five interceptions. This is not what a Pro Bowl-bound quarterback should be doing in the all-important end of the season. Talk to Pennington and Cassel, who are trying everything they can to WIN games for their teams.
Favre puts them in position to lose. He is a Pro Bowler?
Brett Favre to me signifies everything that is wrong with our system of Pro Bowl selection. He is a living legend, and that took him through to the Pro Bowl, leaving out quarterbacks who have had LEGITIMATELY good seasons, such as Chad Pennington, Philip Rivers, and Matt Cassel.
Do not get me wrong...I have always loved Favre. I have a Brett Favre Packers jersey sitting in a closet. It's just that this year he should decline his invitation.
