Week 11 Fantasy Football Rankings: Dez Bryant and More WRs Guaranteed to Sizzle

Adam WellsNov 17, 2011

With the NFL becoming so reliant on the pass, the value of wide receivers in fantasy football has increased exponentially this season. The results have shown as they are dominating games in ways that we have never seen.

There have always been dominant receivers, but never before have there been this many great pass catchers at one time. It's been great for fans to watch, though it is lousy for opposing defenses because they are powerless to stop them.

Now is not the time to get preachy about the rules favoring the offense instead of the defense, we have to make sure that you do what is in the best interest of your fantasy team.

With that in mind, here are three stud wide receivers that will dominate.

Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys

With Tony Romo playing so well, you could put any of the Cowboys starting wide receivers on this list and not miss a beat, but there is something special about Bryant and we are going to see that this week against Washington.

Miles Austin’s injuries have given Bryant the stage to prove that he \is capable of being a No. 1 receiver in the NFL, and while there have been moments where he looks lost, for the most part he has held his own.

The Redskins have no offense, which puts the defense on the field far longer than it should, which means that the Cowboys will have plenty of chances to open up the playbook and overwhelm an overworked Redskins secondary.

Mario Manningham, New York Giants

The Giants receivers don’t get the credit that they deserve, but they have a great collection of talent on the outside, and Eli Manning has benefited greatly from throwing the ball up and letting them make a play.

Manningham is starting to catch fire and become a reliable fantasy receiver. Even though he is not getting the yardage that you want from a No. 2 wideout, he is catching touchdowns.

He has at least one in his last three games, and a game against the disaster that is known as the Philadelphia Eagles should let him move that number to four and will also result in his first 100-yard game of the season.

Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions

Saving the best for last, because that is how I roll.

What is left to say about Johnson that already hasn’t been said this season? He has emerged as the best wide receiver in the NFL, and has dominated in a way that few players at any position have been able to.

A matchup against a soft Carolina defense is going to give him a chance to break loose like he was earlier in the season when he was catching two touchdown passes per game.

Johnson was working on a streak of four straight games with at least 100 yards but that was broken last week when he “only” had 81 yards on seven catches. He will get back into triple-digits in this game.
