WWE Survivor Series 2011: The Miz and R-Truth Will Shine in Main Event

Adam WellsNov 17, 2011

In case you hadn’t heard and judging by the booking leading up to the event you haven’t, The Miz and R-Truth are actually in the main event tag team match at Survivor Series against The Rock and John Cena. As irrelevant as they have looked in the weeks leading up to the show, they will emerge victorious.

The Rock and Cena have been teasing dissension basically since Rock came back in February, and given the way that Raw ended this week, with Rock stealing Cena’s moment, you know that the end of the Survivor Series main event is going to feature either Rock or Cena turning on the other.

As things stand right now, it looks obvious that Cena is going to turn on Rock. Of course, in today’s WWE, that usually means they will do the exact opposite and have Rock turn on Cena; however, no one can deny that Miz and Truth are going to come out on top.

There are a number of reasons for Miz and Truth to go over in this match, but the biggest is because they need a win desperately. If you want to put wrestlers in a main event, then you should make them look like main event wrestlers.

WWE does not do a lot of things right anymore, and there were a lot of things that they did wrong with the build up to Survivor Series, but the one thing that they can’t screw up is the finish of this match. Because if they do, it could kill the momentum that they can have heading into the Rock-Cena match at WrestleMania.

That is not hyperbole, either, it would be very easy for WWE to screw that match up, so they have to be delicate with it.

What better way to build momentum for Survivor Series than put over two wrestlers that WWE believes can be top guys than have them beat Rock and Cena in a main event. Also, what better way to kick off the Road to WrestleMania than having Cena screw Rock out of a victory in his first match back.
