WWE Survivor Series 2011: CM Punk Beat Alberto Del Rio and What It Means

David LevinNov 20, 2011

The streak has been broken.

After falling at the past three PPV events, CM Punk finally put his hands back on WWE gold and took the company's championship back from the Mexican Aristocrat.

Now, the WWE has its anti-hero back with the push he has needed to be the true superstar of this company.

While John Cena is embroiled in a match with The Rock at Wrestlemania, it is now Punk who is the hunted.

Does Cena do what we all want him to do and "turn heel" and challenge Punk? We love seeing this type of match from them.

Will there be others? Will Del Rio, whom I think personally becomes a main event attraction but less of an option as a heel because he lost the title, still be the top contender? Does Dolph Ziggler, the U.S. Champion, jump in as a candidate?

What about Mason Ryan and the others who could beat Punk into the ground charge through?

Then there is the mysterious case of Kane, who has been out of action due to "injury." Does he return to Raw and challenge Punk?

All this has been opened by the idea that Punk has been waiting to regain the strap he lost at Summer Slam when Del Rio claimed gold with the assistance of Kevin Nash.

And where does he fit in all this? Does he come after the strap or is he going to finally feud with Triple H? Or will the COO of the company come back from a brutal beating from his old friend, trying to prove he still has it and yes, he really was behind the conspiracy after all?

Now that the person we want to be champion has the WWE title, it is time for him to fight those in front of him.

And of course, you can expect a surprise or two along the way.
