Week 11 Waiver Wire: Matt Leinart and Others to Add
I know what you're thinking from reading this headline, but stick with me and I think you'll see that I'm not completely crazy.
The Houston Texans have turned their offense over to 28-year-old, former Heisman Trophy winner, Matt Leinart with starter Matt Schaub out indefinitely with a foot injury. Schaub could be out for the year, meaning Leinart is probably set to start for the rest of the season.
While you shouldn't expect Leinart to jump in and light things up, he will have an insane level of offensive talent around him. He was never really given a shot as a starter with the Arizona Cardinals, so he doesn't actually have a track record of performing poorly.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With Arian Foster, as returning Andre Johnson and a solid offensive line, Leinart should be able to score some point in fantasy football and be a solid pickup if you're short at the quarterback position. Pick him up and then give him a week on your bench and see how he does. If he looks solid then slide him into your starting lineup. It could end up being a difference-making signing if you're in desperate need at quarterback.
Another guy who has taken over a starting role for his team is Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu. Head coach Mike Shanahan has finally given the rookie a chance to shine and he has been very good, racking up 200 yards on 33 touches.
Helu should start seeing even more carries and, thanks to his balanced skill-set (big, strong, fast and can catch the ball out of the backfield), he can remain on the field for all three downs. If he's still available, you definitely need to grab him.
San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Brown has also taken over a starting role for his team over the past two weeks and the results have been very positive. The rookie wideout is still available in most leagues, and if his first two weeks as a starter are any indication (nine catches, 176 yards and a touchdown), he should be a very solid fantasy option.
Brown had five catches for 97 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders last Thursday and had another touchdown catch called back thanks to a questionable replay decision. With quarterback Philip Rivers struggling to get the ball to Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates, Brown could become a reliable target late in the season.
Pick him up and thank me later.
