Michael Vick Injury: How to Trade Vick in Fantasy Football Without Selling Low
I know what you are thinking—Michael Vick broke two ribs, likely won't play this week and hasn't reached double-digit points in standard-scoring leagues the past two weeks.
So how in the hell can I sell Vick for anything more than pennies on the dollar?
First things first, you need to have leverage. You won't be able to sell Vick unless you already have another solid quarterback to replace him with, and you definitely won't be able to sell him for another quarterback. In other words, make it known that you don't need to trade Vick, but you wouldn't mind getting something in return for him since you already have a surplus at that position.

Secondly, you need to target an owner who is worried about his own quarterback situation. So the first guy you should be looking at is a Matt Schaub owner, namely one who doesn't have a very good option on his bench to replace him with.
Remind them that everyone in the league knows how desperate they are for a quarterback and is going to try to make them overpay for one in a trade. But you, of course, just want fair market price. And then target a position of need for you and an area of strength for them, and try to land a running back or wide receiver that is ranked 10-15 at their position.
You aren't going to be able to sell Vick's ability to play this week, but you can remind folks that he still has huge potential in the high-powered Philly offense in the coming weeks. Maybe you can find an owner who is already playing matchups with two disappointing quarterbacks, or someone who is concerned about Ben Roethlisberger's broken thumb in the coming weeks.
If you are doing the above, you are going to have settle on high-risk, high-reward players in return. So perhaps you go after DeMarco Murray and remind his owner that Felix Jones is on the way back and will shortly be eating into his carries. Or maybe you target an owner that is totally annoyed at the fact that Darren McFadden probably won't play this week, and is tired of watching him sit on his bench.
That's right, one injured player that could help your team later for another.
Your final bit of leverage: Note that despite the reports out there that Vick probably won't play this week, he will do everything he can to suit up, given that 3-6 Eagles' season is hanging by a thread. For this to mean anything, you need to start negotiating today.
And if all else fails, target the idiot in your league or that guy who always overpays for players on the Eagles because he is a diehard fan of the team. That usually works.
