NFL Rankings: Overrated Teams Sure To Fall in Week 11 and Beyond

Nicholas GossNov 16, 2011

The Detroit Lions, New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons are three very overrated teams of the NFL season, and they are doomed to fall in the power rankings.

Teams are supposed to be playing well and hitting their stride at this point of the season, but many talented teams are struggling instead.

Let's look at three overrated teams that will fall in Week 11 and beyond.

1. New York Jets

The Denver Broncos and the New York Jets are two teams going in opposite directions, and they will face each other on Sunday.

The Broncos have won two straight games and are suddenly a real threat to win the AFC West.

Quarterback Tim Tebow has become a tough player to stop, and regardless of what his stats are each week, he finds a way to win.

The Jets played terribly against the New England Patriots last week in a 37-16 loss. Mark Sanchez proved he is not capable of leading a Super Bowl caliber team, and that the Jets as a team are not the elite team they were the past two seasons.

The Jets will lose to the Broncos in Week 11 and as a result face the possibility of not making the playoffs this season.

The Cincinnati Bengals have played a soft schedule this season, and against football's top teams they have struggled.

In losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals were unable to make the plays necessary to win. They could not finish those games.

Against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, the Bengals will be beaten by a team embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks last week.

The Ravens were unable to follow up their impressive win over the Steelers against the Seahawks last week and will prove they are still an elite team with a win over the Bengals on Sunday.

Baltimore's talented and veteran defense will make life miserable for Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton this week, and force him into costly mistakes like the Steelers did last week.

The Houston Texans are a good football team but they are not an elite team, even before Matt Schaub suffered a season-ending injury.

The Texans must now rely solely on the running game of Arian Foster and Ben Tate to win football games.

Backup quarterback Matt Leinart does not have what it takes to win important late-season games, and he himself is one of the most overrated football players ever.

The Texans will lose to the Jaguars in Week 12 due to the struggles of Leinart, and the play of an underrated Jacksonville defense.
