Citadel vs. South Carolina: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Richard LangfordNov 15, 2011

South Carolina will take on the wildly over matched Citadel this Saturday in what has all the makings of a classic trap game.

The Gamecocks took on the Florida Gators last week, and the game after this they will face their bitter rivals the Clemson Tigers.

That said, they should have little trouble in this one. And that will leave them in a good position to possibly make the SEC Championship game.

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

South Carolina is on the BCS bowl game bubble. They cannot afford another loss if they want to burst through that bubble, and they certainly can't afford a loss to The Citadel.

What They're Saying

The Associated Press talks about South Carolina closing in on some of their goals and Citadel laying in their way.

"

If South Carolina beats The Citadel on Saturday and bitter rival Clemson a week later, the Gamecocks will have just their second 10-win season in more than a century of football and will have beaten the Tigers three times in a row for the first time since 1970.

"I think we set about eight or nine goals this year. A bunch of them are still out there for us," Spurrier said.

South Carolina can still make the SEC title game, but Kentucky would have to beat Georgia on the road this weekend in one of the biggest upsets in the SEC in a while. Spurrier, whose team's 54 points against the Wildcats were the most scored in an SEC game all year, isn't even saying much this week about the remote possibility of a second trip in a row to Atlanta with a Kentucky win.

"

Player to Watch Citadel: RB Darien Robinson

Robinson is a promising sophomore back in a run first attack. He has all the physical tools you look for in a back, and he is getting a chance to put those tools to use. He was Citadel's leading carrier last weed with 22, and he turned that into 84 yards.

Player To Watch South Carolina: QB Connor Shaw

Sophomore QB Shaw is still very erratic in the passing game. In the Gamecocks victory over Florida he was just 6/12 with 81 yards and an interception.

He must start to improve his passing efficiency. What he is doing well though is running the football. He had 16 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns in his last start.

Prediction: South Carolina 31, Citadel 13
