Nebraska Excluded from Early 2009 Top 25

This is more message board material, but NationalChamps.net is already projecting the preseason Top 25 in 2009.

Brace yourself: The Huskers are nowhere to be found.

Now I would put a lot more stock into this after the Bowl Games and after early entries to the NFL are declared.

What is more relevant is whether the Huskers can even make it to the Top 25 with a win in the Gator Bowl.

I think the Huskers need a really strong performance in the Gator Bowl to even finish in the final Top 25 this year, and they might need a little help. I think it would be a huge win for the Huskers to finish in the Top 25.

It would give this team some additional credibility and announce to the nation that the Huskers are on the upswing and ready to be a permanent fixture in the Top 25.

That’s the best way to create momentum for next year.

We also don’t even know who the QB will be in 2009, so it’s a little early to get worked up about these things.
