Week 11 Fantasy Football Rankings: Tim Tebow and QBs Who Will Shine

T.J. McaloonNov 15, 2011

It’s getting later in the fantasy football season, and you need a win desperately. The one position that can clinch that important playoff spot in your league is the quarterback. If you have a quarterback like Broncos’ Tim Tebow, you are guaranteed for a victory.

Yes, Tim Tebow is someone that you must own in your league and start this week. Now, the game is on Thursday night, so if you plan on using him, you have to put him in your lineup right now.

Tebow will not score you the bulk of his points from passing yards. Instead, he will score the majority of his points from rushing yards and his ability of finding the end zone. Through Tebow’s four starts this year, he has thrown at least one touchdown in each game. To go along with one guaranteed passing touchdown, Tebow has rushed for a score in one of those four games.

Give Tebow a start against the Jets this week, as New York is coming into this game struggling on defense. In two of their last three games, the Jets have given up games of 21 and 37 points.

Tebow will not throw for 300 yards—heck, he won’t even throw 100 yards. But he will rush for 50-75 yards and will have two or more touchdowns.

Tebow isn’t the only quarterback you have to start this week. Here are two other must-start players.

Matthew Stafford vs. Carolina Panthers

Stafford is coming into this game after having his worst game of this season. Against the Bears, Stafford threw for a season high four interceptions. However, he did have a great day, with 329 yards passing on a season high 63 passing attempts.

This week, against a terrible Panthers defense, Stafford will not have to throw 63 times again. Stafford will not see the same type of pass rush this week as he did against Chicago last week.

The lack of pass rush will allow Stafford’s receivers time to get open, which will make it easier for the quarterback to find downfield.

You can expect Stafford’s numbers to drastically improve this week, as the Lions go up against a defense that has given up 20 or more points in eight of their nine games this year.

Carson Palmer vs. Minnesota Vikings

Carson Palmer seems to be finally clicking with this Oakland Raiders offense. After his first game where he had yet to click with his offense, it seems as if he clicking with the offense.

In his last two games, Palmer has five touchdowns to four interceptions. Those numbers are a little skewed, as three of those four interceptions came in one game.

This week, the Raiders play the 30th-ranked defense in Minnesota. Last week, the Vikings gave up four touchdowns and 250 passing yards to Aaron Rodgers. Now, Palmer is not Rodgers, but he can and will throw for two or more touchdowns on Sunday.

Do whatever you have to in getting these players into your lineup this week. If you do not, you risk not winning this week.
