NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Latest Report for League's Hottest Teams

Chris TrapassoNov 15, 2011

Four teams are on a tear right now.

Momentum is everything in the NFL and these clubs certainly have it.

Let's look at their current situations as they head into Week 11.

Chicago Bears

This is the Bears team I expected we'd see all season.

The offensive line has unquestionably improved their protection of Jay Cutler, but he's done a magnificent job improvising and making plays with his legs. Matt Forte has been, well, Matt Forte, a true MVP candidate (although no one's beating Aaron Rodgers).

The defense isn't as stout against the run and pass as they've been in recent years, but they take the ball away.

Their 13 interceptions rank them fourth in the NFL.

The experience and star power across the board makes the true darkhorse in the NFC right now.

They should take their win streak to five this week when they host the struggling Chargers.

Houston Texans

The Texans are currently the No. 1 seed in the AFC after their four game winning streak. Things are looking up, right?

Wrong.

Matt Schaub was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury.

With Andre Johnson set to return, this news is devastating for Houston, but obviously doesn't end their season.

Matt Leinart, now 28, steps in and will have to manage the final seven games for the Texans.

Expect to see a ton of Arian Foster and Ben Tate.

Seriously, a lot.

Green Bay Packers

What is there to say about this team? Aaron Rodgers is the man, playing the quarterback position better than we've ever seen.

Sorry, 2007 Tom Brady, the Packers current attack is more versatile.

The defense is improving and 16-0 is a distinct possibility.

San Francisco 49ers

The most complete team in football. Frank Gore has six carries for no yards and they were still able to hold off the Giants last week.

Alex Smith is a little better than I ever thought he'd be following the poor start he got in his pro career, and the linebacking corp is top notch.

Not overly flashy, but 8-1 and winners of seven straight.
