5 Reasons Tyler Seguin of the Boston Bruins Is an Elite NHL Forward
Boston Bruins forward Tyler Seguin has become an elite NHL player in just his second season at the professional level.
Seguin leads the Bruins with 20 points on 11 goals and nine assists. His 11 goals are tied for second in the NHL and his 20 points are tied for seventh in the league.
We all know about Seguin's offensive talents, but his dedication to defense and being more physical has helped make him more of a complete player.
He still has a lot of room for improvement, which is really scary for the rest of the league. Let's look at five reasons why Seguin is a top NHL player already.

He Has Golden Hands
1 of 5Tyler Seguin has great hands and this helps him score great goals and set up teammates with quality scoring chances.
His stick-handling is amazing and it's just one reason why he's such an accurate shooter.
This goal from his first career hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this season displays his great hand-eye coordination.
Great Vision and Awareness
2 of 5Tyler Seguin's awareness on the ice makes him a very good passer. He knows where his teammates are on the ice and this allows Seguin to be thinking one move ahead of his opponents.
Seguin is a great goal scorer, but it's so easy to forget sometimes just how good he is at creating chances for his teammates because he can anticipate where the puck should be and where to pass it the minute it gets on his stick.
In this goal Seguin takes one look and gives Chris Kelly a nice pass, which turns into the game-winning goal for the Bruins scored by Michael Ryder (Bruins won 6-5).
Elite Speed
3 of 5Tyler Seguin is one of the fastest players in the NHL, and his explosive speed allows him to move past even the most skilled defensemen.
Seguin can turn a simple rush up the ice into a breakaway scoring chance, and there are not many players in hockey who can do that.
Seguin's combination of great speed and excellent dekes makes his breakaway chances a nightmare for goalies to stop.
Accurate Shooting
4 of 5Tyler Seguin has excellent shooting accuracy, especially with his wrist shot. The puck just explodes off his stick and is almost always perfectly placed to where the goalie is going to have trouble stopping it.
The goal in this video displays Seguin's great precision shooting, and the goalie he beats is New York Rangers star Henrik Lundqvist, who I would consider the best goalie in the NHL.
Great Offensive Moves
5 of 5Tyler Seguin is the Boston Bruins' most skilled offensive player because he has the ultimate package of speed, playmaking, accurate shooting and offensive moves.
Seguin is so quick and handles the puck so well in traffic. His dekes in shootouts are amazing and it's no surprise he was one of head coach Claude Julien's first candidates for shootouts very early in his career.
He is patient with the puck and trusts his ability to get by defensemen with his slick moves.
