Jerry Sandusky Sex Scandal: Untrustworthy Lawyer Throws Doubt on McQueary Story
Lawyer of the accused Jerry Sandusky, Joe Amendola, had a lot to say to Today's Ann Curry.
Considering his role in such a highly controversial case, it was a bit surprising.
Even more surprising is the fact that he believes he has found the alleged victim in the incident recounted by Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary
This incident in particular has become a lightning rod of controversy in the case.
Prosecutors have never given Amendola the names of the accusers, but he believes he has found the one in question.
And he believes he'll give another side of the story in favor of Sandusky.
With all the information we currently have, is there any reason to believe Mike McQueary would have a motive in lying about this incident?
Amdendola himself even acknowledged that there is a chance Sandusky is guilty. But the reason he's involved is because there as good a chance that he is innocent.
The entire situation, now compounded by Sandusky's interview with Bob Costas, is one of the most bizarre things we have seen in some time.
Penn State University's involvement aside, Sandusky is in the middle of a situation that even he acknowledges was wrong.
He claims he is entirely innocent of any sexual activity though.
Amendola and Sandusky are smart to go after the McQueary story, but it simply doesn't add up yet.
Why would he lie about something he swears to have seen with his own two eyes?
Only the alleged victim can corroborate either of these claims.
Until that time, we'll have to sift through everything that comes through the media.
