Jerry Sandusky Raises More Doubt with Interview on NBC's Rock Center
Have you ever been accused of something you didn't do? How did you respond?
More than likely you vehemently denied the accusation or allegation. No matter how hard you tried to keep your composure it was too much to bear. You simply cannot remain totally composed. That’s how it is—especially if there is absolutely no truth to the accusation.
Jerry Sandusky convinced no one in the interview with Bob Costas on ROCK CENTER. I certainly don’t want to judge and convict Jerry Sandusky in the court of public opinion, but the outlook appears very bleak for Sandusky and Pennsylvania State University.
Sandusky’s response to Bob Costas’ interview questions were awkward at best. I am certainly no psychologist, but his reaction did not appear to be the reaction of an innocent man charged with such atrocities.
How would you respond to questions like: “Are you sexually attracted to under-aged boys?” Jerry responded repeating the question: “Am I sexually attracted to under-aged boys?” Come on Jerry! That was damning!
Answer the question with a vehement, impassioned denial. Let the world know you are not capable of such heinous acts.
I don’t know what his attorney was thinking, but conducting that interview with Costas appears to be a bad move. Costas was masterful as usual. He is a brilliant interviewer. He asks the right questions. I have always appreciated his skill at getting to the heart of the matter. Once again he succeeded.
If Jerry is possibly innocent I feel bad for him. I’ve heard that 10 more accusers have come forward. How could there be so many stories of impropriety with young boys?
I don’t see how he could possibly be innocent but that is for the court and a panel of jurors to decide. It does not look good for Jerry though.
We now live in a very tolerant society. Our society is too tolerant. That leads to apathy. That’s why a Coach McQueary can witness what he thought was a rape and do nothing to stop it.
How can one think: “It’s not happening to my kid or anyone I know, so let it be!”
How can we turn our heads and do nothing?
No longer is there a right or wrong. Sin does not exist. "If it feels good; do it!" You have options. You have alternatives.
Right is right and wrong is wrong. Our society reflects a dramatic change in morality and it’s not good. The politically correct thing is to accept any and every thing. The end result is moral decline and a depraved society. The result is events at State College, Pennsylvania.
Things at Penn State are just not adding up. I am still perplexed.
Jerry Sandusky is a highly-regarded defensive coordinator of a perennial power in college football. Why did he leave the Nittany Lions so mysteriously? Why are other universities not knocking his door down for his services? Somebody knows something and they are not telling. There appears to be some sort of cloud hanging over Jerry Sandusky. What is that cloud?
None of us knows what will unfold from this jaw-dropping news story. All of us grieve for anyone victimized in this scandal.
Hopefully, we all learn from this. All of us must be willing to stop what is wrong. We cannot wink at badness. Too much is at stake.
