Jerry Sandusky Interview: NBC Interview Painful to Watch

Pain and anguish have washed over the nation ever since former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was charged with sexually abusing young boys in what seems like ages ago.

So it was only fitting that Sandusky's interview with Bob Costas on Rock Center was painful to watch.

In the interview, Costas grills Sandusky on several of the main allegations, including the most talked about alleged incidents of 1998 and 2002.

Sandusky was confronted by the mother of a boy who he allegedly took into a Penn State locker room shower in 1998 and was captured by detectives telling her, "I understand I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead."

He also addressed allegations that current receivers coach Mike McQueary saw him sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy in another one of Penn State's locker room showers.

Addressing claims by McQueary that he heard rhythmic slapping in the shower, Sandusky said it was the boy sliding across the floor and the slapping of towels during "horseplay."

He also sounded remorseful when talking about what had happened to Penn State's reputation since the allegations, saying, "How do you think I'd feel about it? I feel horrible."

But perhaps the most painful thing to hear was when Costas asked him if he was sexually attracted to underage boys.

After hesitating, Sandusky said, "Am I sexually attracted to underage boys? Sexually attracted? You know, I enjoy young people, I love to be around them. But, no, I'm not sexually attracted to young boys."

Generally when you repeat a question it's because you don't want to answer it, and then when an alleged pedophile says he "enjoys young people" and "loves to be around them" it just comes off as creepy and revolting.

I was already disgusted before the interview on Monday.

Now I can't sleep.
